 Why support your support group?

There are a growing number of people discovering that their kidneys do not work properly.

For these people, some form of medical therapy is vital. Their treatment is varied, and tailored very much to their individual needs. If you are a renal patient, you may feel alone and isolated having to adjust to renal therapy to maintain a reasonable standard of health and well-being.

Walsgrave Hospital Kidney Patient's Association (WHKPA) is a support group for renal patients and their family, carers and friends, to give support and a listening ear to people who have discovered that they have kidney problems.

The Association offers:

  • A friendly chat with people going through similar experiences, so that the patient does not feel on his or her own.

  • Ideas and information to help people to help themselves to live with a lifelong problem.

  • Opportunities to socialise, go on outings and attend events with new found friends.

Bi-monthly get-togethers are held on Saturday evenings at Clifford Bridge Road Community Centre. Directions

These offer a chance to meet with a lively, friendly group who do not dwell solely on health issues. Various speakers are invited to  the meetings. Simply keep in touch with our events on the Events page.
